Be safe when using your rollator
Find a safe and stable spot at the bus stop where you can stand comfortably.
Keep your rollator within reach and make sure it is standing firmly. For safety reasons, stand at least 1 meter away from the curb while waiting for the bus.
Give the approaching bus a clear hand signal. The bus driver will notice you more easily and will know that you want to board the bus with your rollator.
Getting on and off of the bus:
Getting on
- Wait until the bus has come to a complete stop before approaching it.
- Make sure the second door of the bus is fully open before boarding.
- Hold onto your walker firmly and board slowly.
- When boarding, first push the front wheels of the walker onto the bus, then the rear wheels. Then step onto the bus yourself.
While riding
- Find a spot with enough room for your walker. Our buses have designated spaces for walker users.
- Make sure your walker is securely parked to prevent it from tipping over, and engage the brake.
- Do not sit on your walker during the ride; instead, use the nearby seats.
Getting off
- Let the driver know in advance if you plan to get off at your stop.
- Wait until the bus has come to a complete stop before moving your walker.
- Watch out for curbs and other obstacles as you get off.
- Step off the bus backward. The rear wheels will follow, then the front wheels.
