Important Information about the ESWE Verkehr Ticket App
On December 15, 2025, ESWE Verkehr will release the next App-Update.

PayPal
PayPal is a secure and easy payment method that allows for fast online transactions. Users can pay with their email address and password, keeping their bank details protected throughout the process.

Credit Card (VISA or MasterCard)
With your credit card (VISA or MasterCard), you can pay conveniently and directly. The payment is processed automatically, and your transaction is completed instantly.

Alternative Payment Methods
You can also purchase the Deutschland-Ticket at our sales points or online through our Abo-Online-Portal, and receive it on a chip card. The SEPA mandate must be submitted by the 10th of the month before.

App update

What happens if I don't install the update?
Please update the app once the new version is released to continue accessing your subscription. After updating, you’ll need to sign in again once.
Not installing the update will not automatically cancel your subscription. If you wish to cancel, you can do so directly within the app. -
What can I do if I’m having trouble signing in to the app?
Please reset your password by tapping “Forgot password?” on the app’s login screen.
After resetting your password, reopen the app and sign in using your email address and the new password.
Registration

What can I do if I’ve forgotten my login details?
Click on “Forgot password?” to reset your password. Then enter the email address you used to register. You’ll receive an email with a link to set a new password.

I have not received an e-mail confirmation. Why is that?
Please check your e-mail address and the spam/junk folder in your e-mail inbox.

Ticket purchase

What does the countdown after ticket purchase in the control view mean?
The number shows how many seconds have passed since the purchase. After 120 seconds, it disappears automatically. However, your ticket is valid immediately — even while the countdown is running.
Important: The ticket must be purchased before starting your journey. -
Is it possible to buy tickets in advance?
The Deutschland-Ticket can be purchased in advance and will be automatically activated on your selected start date.
Single and day tickets, however, are only valid for immediate travel – their validity begins as soon as they are purchased. -
Are short-distance tickets also available in the app?
Short-distance tickets are currently not available in the app. For short trips of up to three stops (max. 2 km), only day passes are shown in the journey planner. Short-distance tickets are still available at our ticket machines or directly from the bus driver.

Do tickets purchased in the app need to be validated?
No. Single and day tickets are automatically validated at the time of purchase and are immediately valid – they can only be used for immediate travel.

When will my Deutschland-Ticket appear in the app?
Deutschland-Tickets are automatically activated on the selected start date. Until then, they will appear in “My Tickets” as a greyed-out pre-order.
Single and day tickets are activated immediately after purchase and will appear in “My Tickets” right away. -
When will I see my Deutschland-Ticket for the upcoming month in the app?
Your Deutschland-Ticket will appear in the app in good time before the new month begins – usually a few days before the end of the current month. It will be available under “My Tickets” no later than the 1st of the month.

Why isn’t my ticket showing up after purchase?
A weak or unstable internet connection can delay the ticket transfer. Please make sure you have a stable connection during the purchase process.
If your ticket doesn’t appear after purchase:- Refresh the page.
- If it still doesn’t show up, log out of the app and log back in.

Where can I find my invoices?
You can request your invoices for ticket purchases through your profile under the “Ticket Purchases” menu.
The invoice will then be automatically sent as a PDF to your registered email address. -
Can I buy tickets for other people using the ESWE-Tickets app?
Yes. In the ESWE-Tickets app, you can purchase tickets for fellow travelers, including Deutschland-Tickets. You must enter the names of the passengers during the purchase process; changes afterward are not possible.

Which tickets can I buy in the app?
In addition to the Deutschland-Ticket and the Deutschland Jobticket, our app allows you to purchase the following tickets for RMV fare zone 13 (Mainz/Wiesbaden):
- Single ticket (adults & children)
- Day ticket (adults & children)

How can I buy single and day tickets in the app?
Single and day tickets can only be purchased after first checking a connection.
Select your desired route, tap on “Buy ticket,” and then choose the appropriate ticket. -
Where can I cancel or terminate my order?
Unfortunately, mobile phone tickets cannot be exchanged. However, you can cancel them under the menu item ‘Orders’ (you can find this by clicking on the first letter of your first name in the top right-hand corner) before the first day of validity or cancel your subscription by the 10th of the month to the end of the month in question.
Cancellation can be made in the following ways:
- via our online form
- by e-mail to: jahresabo@eswe-verkehr.de
- by letter to: ESWE Verkehr mobility centre, Marktstraße 10, 65183 Wiesbaden
- in the ESWE Verkehr ticket app (if the Deutschlandticket/job ticket was purchased as a mobile phone ticket)

What payment methods are available?
- Credit card (MasterCard and VISA — you will need to provide your full name, credit card number, and security code)
- PayPal (a separate PayPal account is required)

I pre-ordered a Deutschland-Ticket. When will the amount be charged to my account?
Your account will be charged immediately after purchase by our payment provider LOGPAY, and the ticket will be activated in the app on the selected start date.
Route finder

What can I do with the connection planner?
With the connection planner, you can look up nationwide routes across Germany. Real-time data is available throughout the entire RMV area.

Can I set the number of transfers in the connection planner?
Yes. In the connection planner options, you can customize the number of transfers as well as other settings to suit your preferences.

How do I save a route as a favorite?
Tap the star icon on the right side of the screen to save a route as a favorite. You can find your saved favorites later in the profile section.
Ticket validation

What should I keep in mind during a ticket inspection?
Your tickets are stored in the ESWE Tickets app and can be shown even without mobile network reception.
We recommend opening the app once before your journey while connected to the internet, so all necessary data is loaded.
You can find your purchased tickets under “My Tickets.” Tap on an active ticket to open the control view. -
What happens if my phone battery dies during a ticket inspection?
If you are unable to show your mobile ticket during an inspection, it is considered traveling without a valid ticket. In this case, you will have to pay a higher fare penalty.
According to the terms of carriage, you must have a valid ticket before starting your journey and be able to present it at any time during an inspection.
Jobticket-Deutschland (Job Ticket)

How do I get my Jobticket Deutschland in the app?
You will receive a personal voucher code from your employer. This code allows you to purchase the Jobticket Deutschland directly in the app.
Here’s how it works:- Start the purchase process in the app and select “Jobticket Deutschland.”
- Choose the desired start date for the ticket’s validity.
- Enter your voucher code.
- After a successful purchase, your Jobticket will appear under “My Tickets"
