Travel safely in a wheelchair

Find a safe and stable spot at the bus stop where you can stand comfortably.

For safety reasons, stand at least 1 meter away from the curb while waiting for the bus.

Give the approaching bus a clear hand signal. This helps the bus driver notice you more easily and lets them know that you want to board the bus in your wheelchair.

Getting on and off of the bus:

Getting on

  • Wait until the bus has come to a complete stop before approaching it.
  • Always use the second door on the bus.
  • If the driver did not notice you, use the button near the door to request the boarding ramp.
  • The bus driver will unfold a folding ramp to help you board the vehicle.

While riding

  • Our buses have designated spaces for wheelchair users. These are located near the second door and marked with a corresponding symbol.
  • If the space is occupied, the driver will ask the passengers to vacate it.
  • Make sure your wheelchair is stable and, if necessary, secured with the provided straps and with the brakes engaged.

Getting off

  • Please let the driver know in advance if you plan to get off at the next stop.
  • You will find a button for requesting a stop in the wheelchair area.
  • Wait until the bus has come to a complete stop before moving your wheelchair.
  • Watch out for curbs and other obstacles when getting off.

Don't hesitate to ask the bus driver or other passengers for help if you need assistance.
