More information

When does a subscription to ESWE Verkehr become worthwhile?

The subscription pays for itself - sooner than you might think: do the maths!

The subscription pays for itself because you save 20% compared to 12 monthly tickets*.

And if you are a current user of 9 o'clock monthly passes, you can save €16.62 per month: This is because the 9 o'clock monthly pass (Wiesbaden/Mainz) costs €78.50, while you pay the equivalent of just €61.88 per month for the 9 o'clock subscription*.

*Calculation basis: Advance one-off payment of the total annual amount.

Where and when is the subscription valid?

You can travel on all public transport within the area of validity of your travelcard - regardless of whether it is a city or regional bus, tram, S-Bahn or regional train.

Your season ticket is always valid - whether it's a working day or a weekend, during the day, in the evening or at night. Simply travel around the clock, whenever and as often as you like. The exception to this is the 9 o'clock travelcard.

And if you ever want to travel outside your booked area of validity in the RMV fare zone, you can benefit from inexpensive connecting tickets, which you can purchase at our ticket machines, for example.

When does the 9 a.m. variant apply?

The 9 o'clock Abonnement is the particularly favourable subscription with an extra 20 percent discount on the total price.

It is valid Monday to Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 a.m. the next morning.

On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays in Hesse as well as on 24 and 31 December (in fare zone 6500 also on 1 November), your 9 o'clock ticket is valid 24 hours a day!

What is the difference between a transferable and a personal season ticket?

A transferable ticket is valid for the person carrying it. This means you can give your eTicket chip card to family members, friends, colleagues, etc. as you wish.

A personalised ticket is only valid for its holder - and only in conjunction with an official photo ID. Your name (in encrypted form), date of birth (month and year) and gender are stored on the personalised eTicket chip card.

Free of charge: the smart take-along tickets

Benefit for subscribers

As a holder of an ESWE Verkehr season ticket, you benefit from our practical take-along regulation - regardless of which version of the season ticket you use. The following regulation applies:

In accordance with the RMV-wide take-along regulation, holders of adult fare season tickets and advantage tickets (weekly, monthly and annual tickets incl. 9 o'clock tickets, 65-plus monthly tickets and Seniorenticket Hessen Komfort) as well as JobTickets and FirmenCards with take-along regulation can travel from Monday to Friday from 7 p.m. - on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays in Hesse as well as on 24 and 31 December even all day long - within the respective valid time period. and even all day on 24 and 31 December - one adult and an unlimited number of children under the age of 15 can travel free of charge within the respective price level booked.

In addition, in accordance with the extended carriage regulations of the Mainz-Wiesbaden Transport Association (VMW), holders of the above-mentioned season tickets (but excluding JobTickets, FirmenCards and LandesTicket Hessen) can also take all their own children or up to three children under the age of 15 with them free of charge during the day (until 19:00) from Monday to Friday. This VMW regulation applies to all RMV transport in the entire 6500 fare zone, i.e. to all bus and rail products (excluding IC and ICE trains). If a child (aged 6 to 14) uses a ticket, the extended VMW rule does not apply.
