Special requirements for e-scooters

We want to make using our buses as easy and comfortable as possible for all passengers. However, we have strict guidelines regarding the use of electric wheelchairs or e-scooters on our buses:

The e-scooter must …

  • have four wheels (not three).
  • have a maximum length of 120 cm and a maximum total weight of 300 kg, including the user and luggage (this corresponds to the load capacity of the bus ramps).
  • be capable of climbing a 12 percent incline.
  • be parked facing backward and close to the ramp (wheelchair space). There must be no luggage or additional attachments on the backrest that prevent this (e.g., no bags, backpacks, crutches, etc.).
  • be approved for transport on public transit. This is explicitly stated by the manufacturer in the user manual.

Users must …

  • board the bus with the e-scooter exclusively in reverse and on their own, as it cannot be maneuvered inside the bus.
  • be able to load and unload the e-scooter quickly and independently (approximately 30 seconds).
  • be able to secure themselves and hold on independently during the ride and remain seated on the e-scooter.
  • be able to present proof or authorization in the form of a disability ID card marked “G/aG.”
  • have limited mobility and use the e-scooter exclusively for medical purposes.
