Why does the Hessen WI15 student ticket only extend to the age of 18?
Please note that the automatic extension of the Hessen W15 student ticket is only guaranteed up to the age of 18, as the state capital of Wiesbaden supports subsidisation up to this age.

What proof do I need to provide to get the Hessen WI15 student ticket at the reduced price of €10.00?
If you receive citizen's allowance (SGB II), assistance towards living expenses (SGB XII), benefits under the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act (AsylbLG) or housing benefit (WoGG) for your child, you can order the Hessen WI15 student ticket for just 10 euros per month. Proof in the form of the Hessenpass mobil letter is sufficient. This is valid as authorisation to receive the discount on the purchase. Please submit a copy of this authorisation with your order.
If you receive child supplement (KiZ), the ticket can also be purchased for 10 euros per month. To do this, please contact the family benefits office.

In order to apply for a Student Ticket Hesse, persons up to and including the age of 17 who live in Hesse must present proof of age, such as a child's ID card or birth certificate.
From the age of 18, proof from the school or training centre must be presented.

How can the student ticket be extended in the Abo online portal?
You do not need to extend the Hessen WI15 student ticket until the age of 18, as this happens automatically. From the age of 18, you can then switch to the regular Schülerticket Hessen.
You can extend the regular Student Ticket Hesse yourself in the online portal. To do this, you must select the ‘Create subscription’ function and place the order again or upload a new valid proof of eligibility under ‘My profile’.
The Student Ticket Hessen WI15 at the reduced price of €10.00 must be applied for each year in the Abo-Online-Portal with valid proof.

Student ticket information for Mainz customers
The Hesse Student Ticket can be used by all students and trainees whose place of residence and/or school or place of training is in Hesse. If both your place of residence and your place of school or training are in the Mainz city area, you are unfortunately not eligible for the Hesse Student Ticket. To compensate for this, however, you can also purchase a CleverCard after 1 August 2017. It will continue to be available for you at all ESWE Verkehr and MVG (Mainzer Verkehrsgesellschaft) sales outlets under the same conditions as before.

The Student Ticket Hesse is not transferable and does not entitle the holder to take additional persons with them free of charge.

How long is the Student Ticket Hesse valid?
The student ticket is valid for one year from the first day of any calendar month. For underage ticket users, i.e. those under the age of 18, the validity of the Schülerticket Hessen is automatically extended by a further year unless the ticket is cancelled by the 10th of the last month of validity at the latest. This subscription function only applies to the ‘direct debit/bank collection’ payment option; however, there is no subscription function for school tickets paid for in cash.

What is the registration code and where can I find it?
The registration code is a code that is used to link your existing contract to the portal. You will find your registration code in the accompanying letter when you receive your chip card. If you cannot find it, please contact our customer service for assistance.

Registering on the ESWE Verkehr subscription online portal is quick and easy. Visit the portal website and select the option to register. Enter your personal details and create a user account. After completing the registration process, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. Follow the link in this e-mail to activate your account and use the portal.

Is there a cancellation period?
Please note that cancellation in the first year of the contract must be made by the 10th of the previous month at the latest. In the event of cancellation in the first year of the contract, an additional charge will be made in accordance with the Common Tariff Regulations of the Transport Associations in Hesse for the Hesse Student Ticket.
